For the Week of February 12th-16th and February 19th-21st.

Our Father in Heaven, we pray to you as your servants, asking for an outpouring of love on our community. They have been faithful and follow you, Lord, but they are in need of Your heavenly love. Show them how strong You are and how powerful. Shower them with your love and blessings and let them never doubt again that they are truly loved in the Kingdom of God.

In You we trust,

Amen.

A St. Matthew family recently lost all their belongings as a result of a fire in their home.  We are asking the community for help.  There are twin boys, 7 years old along with their mother. In terms of clothing, they've received a few donations but must replace all household items.  They are in need of the following items:

*kitchen supplies - dishcloths, tea towels, plates, dishes, cups, glasses etc.

*bathroom supplies - towels, face cloths, toiletries, shower curtain etc.

Grocery cards or donations would also be an option.

Donations can be dropped off at the office.  Any further questions, please call the school 403-845-2836.

Church News

Our parish invites you individually or as a family to say the rosary with the help of the internet. "Come Pray the Rosary" is a perpetual rosary that allows people to say the rosary together on the internet. You can join with others and say the rosary in progress, or start it individually by choosing the mystery you want to say. Through this website, you can follow along as the Rosary is recited, with the visual aid of video from the Holy Land. You can literally see the places where the mysteries take place! You also can keep track of how many other people, around the world, are joining you in prayer. By clicking on the number of people praying and then the map, you can actually see the location of those you are praying with on a map.

Please check out this great website at http://www.comepraytherosary.org/.

Prayer of Gratitude to God

Father, dear Father,

I am so grateful for everything that you have given me.
Thank you so much for the loved ones in my life,
For the many ways in which I am cared for and supported.
Thank you for the many ways I can serve and give to others.
Thank you for the rich tapestry of colors in creation,
For the beauty which is all around me,
For the skies and the ever-changing cloud formations,
For the breathtaking sunsets and early morning mists.
My heart is so grateful and brimming with thanks.
I could write a thousand books about your great goodness,
And still, have many stories to tell.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I thank you with everything I am.
All my being cries thank you Lord!

Amen.

Loving God, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate
and open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings,
and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children,
and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

O sweet Child of Bethlehem,
grant that we may share with all our hearts
in this profound mystery of Christmas.
Put into the hearts of men and women this peace
for which they sometimes seek so desperately
and which you alone can give to them.
Help them to know one another better,
and to live as brothers and sisters,
children of the same Father.
Reveal to them also your beauty, holiness and purity.
Awaken in their hearts
love and gratitude for your infinite goodness.
Join them all together in your love.
And give us your heavenly peace.

Amen.

Christmas Prayer

Let Your goodness Lord appear to us, that we
made in your image, conform ourselves to it.
In our own strength
we cannot imitate Your majesty, power, and wonder
nor is it fitting for us to try.
But Your mercy reaches from the heavens
through the clouds to the earth below.
You have come to us as a small child,
but you have brought us the greatest of all gifts,
the gift of eternal love
Caress us with Your tiny hands,
embrace us with Your tiny arms
and pierce our hearts with Your soft, sweet cries.

November 01. For many of us, it is hard to separate All Saints’ Day from All Souls’ Day. It is, after all, a two-day celebration of the Communion of Saints. On All Saints’ Day, we celebrate our ancestors of faith who are one with God in the heavenly realm and on All Souls’ Day we remember those well on their way to heaven. We are all familiar with the giants of the Church, such as Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Saint Augustine and Saint Anne. We study their lives and we celebrate their feast days throughout the year. On All Saints’ Day, we celebrate all saints, whom we trust is now one with their Savior, having lived honorable and just lives among us. We celebrate saints who are clothed in garments made white in the blood of the Lamb. We were privileged to have had three modern-day saints walk among us: Pope Saint John Paul II, Saint Teresa of Calcutta and Pope Saint John XXIII. We also remember on All Saints’ Day our personal saints, Grandpa Frank or Great Aunt Philomena, and all the holy men and women of God who have touched our lives and are now part of that glorious kingdom of God. BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE LET’S REMEMBER IN PRAYER ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED Month of November, especially All Souls Day, November 2, is a traditional time to remember in prayer all the faithful departed. Our prayers help them as theirs help us.
